Directions to The Laughing Fish

From London / East Grinstead

From the M25 take exit 6 - A22 to East Grinstead.

Follow the A22 through East Grinstead to Uckfield, and continue on the Uckfield by-pass following signs for A22 towards Eastbourne.

While on the Uckfield by-pass, look for signs for the A26 towards Lewes and Brighton. At the Little Horsted roundabout, turn right on the A26.

Then follow directions below “from the Little Horsted roundabout”.

From Eastbourne/Hastings areas

Follow the A22 towards Uckfield. After you pass the village of Halland you then reach a roundabout for the East Sussex National Golf Course. Go straight on, but at the next roundabout, turn left on the A26 towards Lewes.

Then follow directions below “from the Little Horsted roundabout”.

From the Little Horsted roundabout

Follow the A26 for approximately ¾ mile past Little Horsted School and Church. At the first crossroads (clearly signposted left for Bentley Wildfowl Centre) turn RIGHT for Isfield.

Follow this lane for about ½ mile until you see a right turn, by an old railway signal box, signposted for Piltdown and Haywards Heath. Turn right here.

The pub is just over the old level crossing on the right.

From Worthing/Brighton areas

Take the A27 towards Lewes and Eastbourne. Take the Lewes by-pass, and at the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway turn LEFT on the A26 towards Tunbridge Wells. Go through the Cuilfail Tunnel, then turn right at the end, still following the A26.

Continue on the A26 for about four miles. Look out for the Old Ship pub on the left. Immediately after the pub, there is a left fork signposted to Isfield. Turn left here.

Follow the lane for about ¾ mile until you reach a left turn signposted for Piltdown and Haywards Heath. Turn left here.

The pub is just over the old level crossing on the right.
